Four orphans are recruited to compete for the role, including a defiant boy named Sage. Sage knows that Conner's motives are more than questionable, yet his life balances on a sword's point -- he must be chosen to play the prince or he will certainly be killed. Only the Hood and his band know the truth: the agile thief posing as a whip of a boy is actually a fearless young woman with a secret past. Helping the people of Nottingham outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life as Gisbourne closes in.

It’s only her fierce loyalty to Robin—whose quick smiles and sharp temper have the rare power to unsettle her—that keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.

Fudging Excited for Reads

FUDGING EXCITED FOR READS

Shadows by Ilsa J. Bick

I am super excited for this release! I read Ashes, the first in the trilogy, last fall and it completely blew my expectation out of the park! Not only was it gritty and frightening, but it was pretty realistic! It is not your normal run-of-the-mill zombie book, where there is a virus or a supernatural event - it's technological. I always knew suspected technology would ultimately be society's downfall and Ashes showcases that to a T.

With only a week to figure things out, Sam needs all the help he can get. Luckily he lives in Seattle, which has nearly as many paranormal types as it does coffee places. But even with newfound friends, will Sam be able to save his skin?
