Summary
When Travis returns home from a stint in Afghanistan, his parents are splitting up, his brother’s stolen his girlfriend and his car, and he’s haunted by nightmares of his best friend’s death. It’s not until Travis runs into Harper, a girl he’s had a rocky relationship with since middle school, that life actually starts looking up. And as he and Harper see more of each other, he begins to pick his way through the minefield of family problems and post-traumatic stress to the possibility of a life that might resemble normal again. Travis’s dry sense of humor, and incredible sense of honor, make him an irresistible and eminently lovable hero.MAILBOX: MAY 31st, 2012

A NEW MERMAID READ! |
Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama
Release Date: September 4th, 2012
I love this original cover!
Fierce, seductive mermaid Syrenka falls in love with Ezra, a young naturalist. When she abandons her life underwater for a chance at happiness on land, she is unaware that this decision comes with horrific and deadly consequences.
Almost one hundred forty years later, seventeen-year-old Hester meets a mysterious stranger named Ezra and feels overwhelmingly, inexplicably drawn to him. For generations, love has resulted in death for the women in her family. Is it an undiagnosed genetic defect . . . or a curse? With Ezra’s help, Hester investigates her family’s strange, sad history. The answers she seeks are waiting in the graveyard, the crypt, and at the bottom of the ocean—but powerful forces will do anything to keep her from uncovering her connection to Syrenka and to the tragedy of so long ago

HELD by Edeet Ravel
I am very excited to read these books! I have heard only amazing things about Colasanti's writing and am hyped to finally read something of hers; also this one has gotten a lot of positive buzz too!
HELD is the perfect mix of disturbing and realistic drama that I love to read! Recently have gotten on a bit of a 'kidnapping' book spree, and urge readers to also check out Stolen by Lucy Christopher & Girl, Stolen by April Henry!
The Girl with Borrowed Wings sounds like it's going to be very heartfelt and beautiful, and I am excited for readers to check it out on shelves in July 2012!
